Forest School
At Shawley we are fortunate to have our own wonderful outdoor forest school set within the grounds. This will provide numerous opportunities for our pupils to learn and explore outside the classroom environment. At Shawley Nursery we will be having weekly Forest School Sessions in the designated space.
The pupils engage in a wide range of activities which involve exploring the area and using natural resources. They are taught to respect the area and everything that is living in it.
We will be growing different vegetables to use in our LEO kitchens for school dinners. Growing their own food will give our pupils a great opportunity to see where our food comes from and the whole process from planting seeds to harvesting food.
What will I need for Forest School?
Each session your child will need:
- A pair of waterproof trousers or dungarees
- A waterproof jacket
- A pair of Wellington boots and socks or other sturdy waterproof shoes - please no Crocs, open shoes, sandals or flip flops.
