Ofsted
Shawley Community Primary Academy opened on 1st March 2022. Our school was inspected by Ofsted in July 2024. At this inspection, we are delighted that Shawley was graded as a Good school.
'Pupils greet everyone with a warm welcome to this friendly, inclusive and forward-thinking school. Pastoral care and wellbeing are valued highly, ensuring that pupils feel cared for, joyful and safe.'
'Technology is harnessed to enable rich learning opportunities for all. Every pupil has their own
device, accessing software to help them with their learning. This approach benefits all, and particularly pupils who are disadvantaged including those with special educational need and/or disabilities (SEND).'
'A diverse offer of free clubs ensures something for everyone. A superb range of sports opportunities are greatly appreciated by pupils and parents. Music and theatre experiences provide wider enrichment, celebrating and nurturing pupils’ individual and shared talents. Outdoor education, residential activity weeks, trips and visits enrich pupils’ lives beyond the classrooms. '

Ofsted Inspection Support
LEO Academy Trust extensively supports its schools during Ofsted inspections. This includes building strong relationships from the start, providing dedicated members of staff on inspection day, and showcasing the Trust's collaborative approach. During an inspection, the CEO and/or Director of Education will attend team meetings alongside the Principal, or will delegate this responsibility to another member of the Trust's Executive Team. Members of the Trust’s central education and professional services teams will often attend other meetings with inspectors, alongside leaders from the school. The CEO, Chair of the Trust Board and Chair of the local Academy Committee will represent the Trust's governance in meetings with the inspection team. While the Trust leads many aspects of the school's work, the school itself maintains control over its daily operations. More details can be found in our Scheme of Delegation.
